Carol Paine-McGovern retired in 2023 as the Founding Executive Director of the Kent School Services Network, KSSN. Previous employment included President of the Paine Family Foundation, Manager for the Kent County Healthy Start Program as well as a consultant for the Frey and Nokomis Foundations. Prior to moving to Michigan Carol worked as an Education Policy Analyst for the Oklahoma House of Representatives and as the Nutrition Coordinator for the Oklahoma State Health Department. Carol served four years with the National Health Service Corps in rural West Virginia. Carol currently serves on the Corewell Health Grand Rapids Community Board. Carol is a former East Grand Rapids Public Schools board member.
Carol served one term on the Early Childhood Investment Corporation and held previous board positions on the Council of Michigan Foundations, School Community Health Alliance of Michigan, Center for Community Leadership, GROW, Grand Rapids Student Advancement Foundation, and the East Grand Rapids Library Commission. Carol holds a B.S.from Michigan State University and a M.P.H. From the University of Minnesota.
