It’s Black History Month!

While the contributions of Black Americans to American culture and society should be celebrated year-round, February is a time to intentionally uplift the experience of Black Americans in our country. As we look to celebrate the progress that Black people in America have seen, we also take the time to reflect on the reality of the many sacrifices of those who have come before us. We honor the sacrifices—seen and unseen—of Black Americans who have paved the way for economic and social progress while looking forward to continued progress. The team at your Grand Rapids Chamber looks forward to doing our part to move progress forward and helping to create a thriving and prosperous wWest Michigan for ALL.

We encourage you to celebrate Black History this month, and every month. Explore more ways to actively support the Black community in Grand Rapids below.
