Architecture and engineering firm, Progressive AE, launches bold new look and changes name to Progressive Companies

From modest beginnings of four original engineering partners in 1962, to over 270 employees across the nation today, Progressive AE recognizes and embraces the need for change. With continued expansion of business consulting and related professional services, having AE in the name no longer represents the firm’s wide breadth of expertise and capabilities. While design remains core to our business, the range of services has grown to include Universal Design consulting, change management, sustainability leadership, controlled environments, program management, and capital planning. The shift to Progressive Companies offers greater flexibility as the firm continues to diversify beyond architecture and engineering.

Progressive Companies is providing design, engineering, and consulting services on Grand Rapids’ new Acrisure Amphitheater, breaking ground in 2024.

Progressive Companies is actively leading major downtown projects in Grand Rapids, MI including the Acrisure Amphitheater and Grand Rapids Soccer Stadium. The firm is also leading the new Sullenberger Aviation Museum in Charlotte, NC, and has opened a new office location in Detroit, MI. These transformational projects, along with completing hundreds of projects for national brands each year, are reflective of the impact Progressive Companies has on communities throughout the nation.

“While personal relationships and community connections remain cornerstone to our success, we also recognize the need to elevate the firm’s visual identity to more fully represent the firm’s expertise and service offerings,” said Bradley Thomas, President and CEO. “Our new brand is more inclusive to the business consulting services we’re already providing and allows for continued diversification.”

Twisthink’s new Grand Rapids headquarters is a dynamic and collaborative workplace located in the Michigan State University Doug Meijer Medical Innovation Building.

In addition to the name change, the new identity is bold in every way – colors, fonts, patterns, imagery, and language. It signifies courage, strength, and the ability to leave a mark through Performance Based Design, a commitment to sustainable and inclusive design, and a company culture built on diversity, leadership, learning, and trust.

A multi-channel marketing campaign, including a new website, launched March 12 to announce the firm’s bold new brand.
