Rick Treur has spent his professional life in public service, community engagement and entertainment. He now oversees the Chamber’s leadership programs to help uplift the next generation of leaders to make Grand Rapids a great place to live, work and play.
Prior to joining the Chamber, Rick worked with Congressmen Paul Henry, Vern Ehlers, and Peter Meijer. Rick’s work in their offices allowed him to engage with community leaders and organizations and help constituents resolve problems with the federal government. For ten years, he served at Calvin University in the Advancement Division as Director of the Annual Fund and Alumni Director.
Beyond his professional achievements, Rick co-founded River City Improv, the award-winning Calvin Alumni Team, based in Grand Rapids. To this day, he continues to be an active performer with the group as they create clean, clever comedy.
Rick also volunteers his time on local non-profit boards and has been a Rotarian since 2006. In his down time, you’ll find Rick spending time with family and friends. As a life-long learner, he often explores new destinations on his travels, tries to capture the perfect photo with his camera or log more miles on the road with his mediocre running abilities.
Fun Facts:
