About Me

Julie hails from metro-Detroit, and graduated from Northwood University in 2016 with a degree in Sports Management while playing four years on their soccer team. Following graduation, Julie moved to Anchorage, Alaska to work for the Alaska Aces, an ECHL hockey team affiliated with the Vancouver Canucks. Following her time with the Aces, she worked at an Alaskan-based health club as their Amenities Marketing and Sales Manager. After two years in Alaska, Julie moved back to Grand Rapids to work for the Meijer State Games of Michigan and National Congress of State Games as an Event Coordinator. She handled event logistics, website maintenance, registration, and more for State Games, while helping plan and execute the national State Games event (State Games of America) along with the national symposium. In 2023, she was promoted to Director and now runs the Meijer State Games of Michigan program. She also serves on the Michigan Senior Olympics board, the Michigan Moves Coalition sports sector, is a mentor at the University of Michigan, and is the State Games of America Executive Committee Chair. She was recently named a 20 Under 40 Recipient for Northwood University in their 2025 class.
