About Me

Greg McNeilly joined Windquest in 2009 as its Vice President of Administration, then as Chief Operating Officer, and now serves as Chief Executive Officer. Throughout his time with the firm, Windquest holdings have grown six-fold and currently employ nearly 1,500 people.

The Windquest Group was founded in 1988, with one employee, by Dick and Betsy DeVos. The family-owned firm now employs team members across 17 states, with the vast majority in West Michigan. The portfolio spans diverse sectors, including consumer products, manufacturing, wellness, food and beverage, and sustainability solutions. The organization’s focus is smart growth through people, products, and services that make the world better. Previously, McNeilly had been active in political and issue campaign management for 22 years.

McNeilly served as the Campaign Manager for the Gubernatorial candidate Dick DeVos. National Journal recognized the effort as “America’s best-run Republican challenger campaign of 2006.”

McNeilly served as the Director of Strategy for the National Republican Senatorial Committee under its Chairman U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole (R-NC). McNeilly also worked for six years with the Michigan Republican Party, where he was Executive Director. He was the communication consultant for the election of Don Carcieri (R), Governor of Rhode Island.

McNeilly serves as a nonprofit Board member for the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, the Michigan Association of Public-School Academies, the Great Lakes Education Project, and is Chairman of the Michigan Freedom Fund. As well as a Board member of the Grand Rapids Downtown Development Authority and the Grand Rapids Police Chief’s Advisory Committee.

Additionally, McNeilly was a panelist with the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Institute of Politics Forum; a winner of the F.A. Hayek Competition, Mont Pelerin Society; recipient Carl A. Spaatz Award, CAP.

McNeilly is a graduate of Michigan State University with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science and resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with his husband and three children.
