Lauren Snyder is senior vice president and chief customer and growth officer for CMS Energy and its principal subsidiary, Consumers Energy. She was named to this position in 2025.
Snyder leads Consumers Energy’s efforts to deliver exceptional customer experiences and fuel Michigan’s economic growth. She oversees customer operations, customer programs, brand, external communications, and drives Consumers Energy’s economic development strategy to attract new industries, create jobs, and help Michigan thrive.
Snyder’s vast and varied yet consistently customer-focused career with Consumers Energy spans more than 20 years. From the frontlines of operations working directly with customers, to helping lawmakers advance policies that put customers first and developing the company’s long-term customer strategy to deliver improved experiences, the customer has been at the heart of her work. Snyder is uniquely positioned to shape the company’s customer-first approach.
As a mother of four children, Snyder was honored to serve as executive sponsor for the company’s Women in Energy resource group where she led the development of Consumers Energy’s world-class parental leave policy.
Snyder holds an MBA and a BBA in marketing from Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business and earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Michigan State University’s James Madison College. While at MSU, she was part of the Women’s Varsity Golf Team.
Snyder serves on the boards of Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce, the West Michigan Center of Arts and Technology, and the St. Mary’s Foundation. She is also a member of the Detroit Regional Partnership Leadership Council. Under Snyder’s leadership, the company has been named a Top Utility in Economic Development by Site Selection Magazine and a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year.
