Monica Steimle-App is Senior Vice President at Rockford, where she serves as a key connection point for people and projects. With more than 24 years of experience in real estate development and property management, she brings a deep understanding of how development, construction, and community intersect. At Rockford, Monica has led teams across property and facilities management, overseeing a $480 million real estate portfolio of more than 3.5 million square feet and positioning that business unit for long-term sustainability and growth. She now focuses on positioning Rockford externally—highlighting its mission through community engagement, strategic partnerships, and external affairs—with a strong emphasis on business development and growth.
Her work at Rockford also extends deeply into the community. Monica serves as Board Chair for the Grand Rapids Housing Commission and the Downtown Improvement District at DGRI, and as Vice Chair of the Grand Rapids Public Schools Foundation. She also supports city and county partners through advisory roles with the City of Grand Rapids Affordable Housing Fund Board, the Kent County Revolving Loan Fund, and the Police Chief’s Advisory Team.
Monica believes deeply in the power of collaboration and that we are truly better together. Through her combined work and community leadership, she is committed to building authentic partnerships, advancing equity, and creating positive, lasting impact.
