Natalie Stewart Mitchell is the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Campus Development at Switch. She brings extensive experience in public policy development, community and political relations, business development, land development, advocacy and campaign and ethics compliance to her work at Switch.
As the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Campus Development, she oversees the company’s public policy strategy across critical areas, including energy and sustainability initiatives, technology, tax policy, economic development, and workforce initiatives. She directs these efforts nationally, with a particular focus on Switch’s prime campuses in Nevada, Michigan, Georgia, and Texas, as well as leading the company’s federal initiatives in Washington, D.C.
Natalie plays a key role in strategic partnerships and client development, leveraging her deep understanding of infrastructure and public sector needs to support business growth and expansion for the company.
In addition to her role in Government Affairs, Natalie leads the Campus Development Division of Switch, responsible for driving key initiatives such as identifying land and new markets for data center development, navigating zoning and regulatory processes, assessing the political climate, and ensuring that Switch provides added value to the communities where it operates.
Prior to joining Switch, Natalie’s distinguished career included legislative staff positions with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and State of Michigan. Natalie served in leadership positions with two Speakers of the Michigan House of Representatives, the Office of Michigan Attorney General, and the Michigan Secretary of State. Natalie served on many presidential and congressional political campaigns. She worked on Capitol Hill for the United States Senate and served as a federal lobbyist for the Associated Builders and Contractors in Washington D.C.
A native Michigander, Natalie is active in the community and serves on the Board of the Data Center Coalition, Michigan Economic Development Foundation, and Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce. She is Chair of the Friends of West Michigan PAC, and is a member of LVGEA, Vegas Chamber, EDAWN, Round Rock Chamber, Cartersville Bartow Chamber, and The Right Place. Natalie has a B.A. from Boston College and Masters work in public policy through Michigan State University.
A self-proclaimed “sports” mom, you can often find Natalie on the sidelines cheering for her three children and pursuing her passion for travel alongside her husband and children.
