Thelma Ensink is the Executive Director of Dégagé Ministries, a homelessness response and housing provider in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Over the past few years, Thelma’s work has centered around launching successful housing and stabilization programs for individuals with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. Prior to serving at Dégagé Ministries, Thelma completed a 20-year career in secondary education as a teacher and administrator in Christian Schools International schools and over a decade as a paramedic for American Medical Response. Thelma received her paramedic diploma from Davenport University, her bachelor’s degree in education from Calvin University, and her master’s degree in educational leadership from Grand Valley State University. She has served on multiple Boards including Safe Haven Ministries and the CSI Pension Board of Trustees. Her career has been dedicated to providing opportunities for all people to discover their gifts and achieve their goals.
