Joe Powers, originally from Holt, Michigan, has called Grand Rapids home since 2011. A proud graduate of Aquinas College and Oakland University, Joe is a self-proclaimed sports junkie with a background in higher education as a college basketball coach and kinesiology professor. His lifelong mission is to help others and strengthen the community around him. Joe lives in Grand Rapids with his wife, Melanie, their son, Jude, and two dogs, Kona and Gracie.
As Membership Engagement Manager, Joe plays a key role in connecting with businesses throughout the region, ensuring Chamber members maximize their involvement and experience the full value of their membership. He also focuses on welcoming new businesses to the Chamber community and supporting their growth.
This position aligns perfectly with Joe’s personal and professional passion for service. Grand Rapids holds a special place in his heart, and he takes great pride in helping the city and its business community continue to thrive. Joe specializes in consultative sales and new business development and is energized by opportunities to build meaningful relationships and share the Chamber’s mission firsthand.
