Mark Tucker serves as the Senior Business Consultant for Thrive + Prosper, where he leads initiatives aimed at fostering economic mobility and wealth generation for business owners in Grand Rapids. With a background spanning automotive, manufacturing, nonprofit leadership, and entrepreneurship, Mark brings a comprehensive perspective to his role.
Born and raised in Detroit, Mark relocated to Grand Rapids in 2011. His career began after completing trade school in Chicago and Arizona, leading to a position as a Master Technician at Sharpe BMW. He later pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Grand Valley State University, where he also served as President of the NAACP Chapter and played Offensive Line for the football team. Post-college, Mark worked as a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker and Production Team Lead at Trans-Matic Mfg. He then transitioned to the nonprofit sector as VP of HR & Operations at AYA Youth Collective. In 2024, he founded Altitude Partners LLC, a minority-owned consulting firm dedicated to enhancing people management and business operations for small businesses.
In his current role, Mark is committed to providing small businesses with access to capital, capacity-building resources, strategic connections, and contract opportunities. His lived experience as a minority business owner and cross-industry leader positions him to champion equity, identify real-world challenges, and craft impactful, community-focused solutions.
