Town Hall: The Impact of Paid Sick Leave and Minimum Wage Changes

October 22 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join Michigan business organizations for an update on the latest discussions in Lansing on paid sick leave, minimum wage, and the tip credit phase-out. Hear from peers and share how these policies impact your operations, employees, and bottom line.

During this event, we will:

  • Provide a brief overview of where we stand on this issue.
  • Outline the business community’s key asks for consensus solutions.
  • Hear from employers about the practical impact these changes have had on their businesses and employees.
  • Discuss next steps, emphasize the urgency for a fix and encourage the legislature to partner with us.

Background: The Michigan Supreme Court’s recent decision significantly changed Michigan’s labor laws, requiring employers to update their policies and procedures. As businesses brace for higher labor costs and new challenges, we are working with legislators to lessen the impact and support a smoother transition for all affected industries. Members of the Michigan House and Senate must come together to pass practical and common sense legislation to lessen the harm of the Supreme Court’s decision on paid leave and minimum wage.

Join us Tuesday, October 22nd from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
