Announcing the Chamber Ambassador of the Year

The Grand Rapids Chamber announces Solmeris Hernandez, Vice President and Associate Wealth Management Advisor for Fifth Third Bank as the 2023 Ambassador of the Year.

Joining as a Chamber Ambassador in 2018, Hernandez has made impact through her commitment and active involvement, enhancing both the Chamber and its members’ experiences. The Grand Rapids Chamber thanks Hernandez for her continued dedication in serving as an Ambassador and consistently supporting members.

In addition to her role as a Grand Rapids Chamber Ambassador, Hernandez serves as a co-chair for Fifth Third Bank’s corporate-wide Latino Business Resource Group and actively serves on the Grand Rapids Chamber OutPro Council and the West Michigan Welcome Plan Collaborative.

Sol has been instrumental on our Chamber Ambassador Council, consistently going above and beyond to provide support to our members. Whether she is volunteering at events or fostering a welcoming atmosphere during businesses’ ribbon cutting celebrations, Sol ensures top-quality experiences for all. Her commitment extends beyond this, advocating for inclusive workplaces through her role on the OutPro Council, said Amanda Hentsch, Director of Membership at the Grand Rapids Chamber.

As Vice President & Associate Wealth Management Advisor for Fifth Third Bank, Hernandez has a career spanning over a decade in the financial industry, starting as a customer service representative in 2009. Her progression from a retail office manager to her current position in private banking at Fifth Third Bank reflects her dedication to relationship-building and community support.

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to serve in this council and this community. I enjoy giving back because I love to see businesses thrive and for all of us to come together to help them celebrate their successes. It is about connection and partnership to create a thriving business community,” said Hernandez.
