(Grand Rapids, Mich. – December 15, 2020) — The Grand Rapids Chamber welcomes Monica Mendez to the Talent Development Team as Talent Development Manager. Monica is responsible for overseeing Leading Edge, Leadership Advantage, and expanding upon ATHENA Grand Rapids programming. Additionally, Monica will provide support and connections to Grand Rapids Chamber members and their various talent needs.
An immigrant from Mexico, Monica came to the United States 20 years ago pursuing a life dream. She spent the first 15 years of her career as a business professional in a variety of different sales roles, and while finding success, she always felt drawn to other causes.
“This past year has reminded me to embrace what is most important to me, which is creating positive change in my community,” said Monica Mendez, Talent Development Manager at the Grand Rapids Chamber. “I believe our community thrives when people never stop challenging themselves physically, ideologically, personally, and professionally.”
“Monica’s passion for business and women, coupled with her impressive resume working in the for-profit sector will be a powerful addition to the Grand Rapids Chamber,” said Mel Trombley, Director of Leadership Programs. “Monica’s business acumen will be a driving force to the continued success and intentional expansion of our talent programming.”
