About Me

Ben Greene is a dedicated public servant, small business owner, and community leader with deep roots in Kent County. Ben currently serves as Chair of the Kent County Board of Commissioners and, at 36, is the youngest person in County history to hold the position. Ben was elected to the Board in 2020 and previously served as a Plainfield Township Trustee (2016–2020). His leadership is driven by a commitment to efficient governance, economic growth, and strong community partnerships.

In addition to his public service, Ben is a small business owner and President of Northland Strategies LLC, a Grand Rapids-based public relations and marketing firm. With over a decade of experience in government, Ben served as a Legislative Director and Legislative Aide in the Michigan Legislature (2009–2019) and later as Director of Marketing and Engagement for the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre (2019–2023).

A Kent County native and Plainfield Township resident, Ben is deeply invested in his community. He and his wife, Taylor, are proud parents to two young children, Isabelle and Declan. They are active parishioners at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

Through his leadership in both the public and private sectors, Ben continues to champion policies that foster economic development, public safety, and a thriving future for West Michigan.
