Judd Herzer is the Mobility Director for Michigan State University. In this role, Judd leads university-wide initiatives to advance knowledge and practice around future transportation technologies. He is responsible for coordinating mobility related research across several colleges on campus to create a premier ecosystem for development, deployment and testing of transportation innovations. His duties also include establishing and growing collaborative partnerships with industry, government and other academic partners. Judd has formerly served as the Infrastructure and Technology Advisor to the Governor, and as Director of Strategic Policy for the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity during which he founded the Michigan Office of Future Mobility and Electrification and the Michigan High-speed Internet Office. Judd holds a Bachelor’s in economics and political science from Western Michigan University and graduated cum laude from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School at WMU where he earned his juris doctorate with a concentration in constitutional law and civil rights. Judd is a licensed attorney in the state of Michigan. He enjoys spending his free time offline and outdoors with his family and two huskies, and he’s an avid Manchester United fan.
