Before joining the family business in 2007, Todd Custer gained experience at Steelcase Inc., where he was based in Denver, Colo. with account responsibility for West Coast dealers.
His professional journey reflects a commitment to the industry and an understanding of various aspects of the business. He took over from his father in 2017 and continues to lead Custer and its partner companies through the second generation of the business.
He is engaged in numerous community organizations, including the Family Business Alliance, Jandernoa Entrepreneurial Mentoring, Mercy Health Foundation and Van Andel Institute. He also serves on the boards of Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and Grand Valley State University Foundation and is on the executive board of Grand Action 2.0, where he serves on the Amphitheater Design/Build Committee and chairs the organization’s capital campaign.
