As Director of Government Affairs, Marcus Keech handles Education & Workforce Development as well as Tax & Regulatory Affairs committees and policies for the Chamber. Prior to joining the Chamber team, Marcus served in the Michigan Legislature as a Legislative Aide and Legislative Director. His extensive background in both policy and appropriations has led to accomplishments of multiple Chamber priorities, such as the MI Tri-Share Childcare program.
Marcus graduated from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in international relations. He is a current 2023 U.S Chamber Foundation Business Leads Fellow; 2021 Michigan Political Leadership Program Fellow; and 2018 Jon Farley Exceptional Legislative Staff Award finalist.
Outside of the Chamber, Marcus and his family love to spend time throughout Grand Rapids dining at many of our incredible restaurants or visiting many of our local attractions.
